When Will Vietnam Open It’s Borders? The Roadmap to Reopening
We’ve been getting a lot of emails asking us if the borders are reopening because there have been a lot of misleading headlines and articles in the news and elsewhere about it.
However, in Vietnam nothing is official until you see a document with a red stamp confirming it.
Any talk of plans or roadmaps to reopening are NOT confirmed until those stamped documents emerge.
In addition to that, these announcement usually come quite suddenly, with no advance warning and they often come into affect within days.
So it’s very hard to predict what the government is going to decide and when it will decide it. So any talk you see of reopening roadmaps and plans are very much subject to change.
With that being said, let’s take a look at Vietnam’s proposed roadmap to reopening for tourists and other groups of foreigners:
Make sure to watch the video for the full details but if don’t have the time:
Vietnam has at least set it as a goal to be fully open for new arrivals to Vietnam some time between now (package tours only to start) and June 2022.
As described above, this is not official until government documents emerge confirming it.
Overall we’re happy to see that Vietnam has a plan and fingers crossed it will be possible to move to Vietnam next year.
Baring that all in mind, if you’re interested in teaching English in Asia, we have several programs that you can get started with right now, with the only exception being our in-person programs in Vietnam which will resume when borders reopen:
1. Online TEFL teacher training course and certification.
2. In-country TEFL training plus job placement in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia or Vietnam
3. Already completed a TEFL? In-country orientation, practical add-on and job placement in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, or Vietnam
