Caribbean Bay Korea | World’s Largest Indoor/Outdoor Water Park

Lately I’ve been making an effort to put out videos that give you information on how to start teaching English in Korea as well as ones that give you a sense of how cool and fun life in Korea can be. Today’s video is definitely in the latter category – some unadulterated good times at Caribbean Bay Korea, the world’s largest indoor/outdoor water park!

Slides, lazy rivers, water guns and wave pool… Check it out the video below to see what it’s like!

Caribbean Bay Korea

World’s Largest Indoor/Outdoor Waterpark

This is how Caribbean Bay Korea markets itself and it is pretty big, I won’t lie. I guess there are larger outdoor water parks around but they don’t have the indoor thing going on so Caribbean Bay goes ahead and claims the combo title.

With it’s many slides, wave pull, spas, lazy river and places to chill out and eat there are a lot of places to explore. It’s definitely worth making a day of it and taking the time to do everything it has to offer.

Caribbean Bay is located 40 minutes bus ride from the center of Seoul in Gyeonggi-do province. It’s right next door (and technically part of) the theme park Everland.

Everland has roller-coasters and Caribbean Bay has water slides – and of course both have other things too but that’s the general gist of it.

The Slides, Lazy River And Wave Pool And Hot Baths

The best part by far are all the different slides. They range from multiple different tube based slides to the single person plunge-to-your-death-or-so-it-seems type.

They’re all fun, although a lot of them are rather mild and aren’t going to blow your socks off. The best one was probably the one right at the end of the video just because it’s the most adrenalin pumping of them.

Waits for the more popular slides can be pretty long – up to an hour. I don’t even want to think what that would be like mid season and on public holidays. The smaller rides’ cues went quickly though and you could do them over and over if you wanted to.

The lazy river and wave pull are great for just relaxing and getting your chill on. Bizarrely, though, you need a life jacket to go past the big yellow line in the wave pool which kind of makes you not even want to bother.

It was pretty funny seeing big grown men wandering around in life jackets the whole day.

The hot baths, saunas and steam rooms are great. Just as you you’re getting a bit cold you can head into one of these and it feels pretty damn great. Try out the 42C degree pool for some serious heat.

Restaurants

There’s a central area that serves food and drinks and you have a couple of the options. The food was a little overpriced but decent and our rice omelettes and sausages went down amazingly after running around like a 6-year-old all morning.

Cost And Time Of Year

If you get the regular pricing to Caribbean Bay Korea is can be on the pricey side at 50 000 ($50) per person. Look out for specials though – we went specifically cause they had a “foreigner” special of 18 000 ($18) that weekend.

We also went towards the end of summer when it had already started cooling down and I’m sure it was far less full than during mid-summer. I think it would definitely be worth making sure you go when it isn’t going to be completely packed.

Alright, so that’s a little breakdown for you about Caribbean Bay Korea. Definitely an awesome thing to do and I’d highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance!
